Raytheons Optics Consolidated Manufacturing Center (OCMC) in Richardson TX drives Raytheon Technologies competitiveness in optical components assemblies and systems now and in the future. We are responsible for performing all equipment innovation selection troubleshooting and maintenance to lead the organization in delivering a quality product on time at or below cost in a safe environment.

Our team seeks an experienced Optical Fabrication Assembler to work onsite on the first shift in Richardson. No relocation assistance available. We are on a 9/80 work schedule (off every other Friday).

What you will do:

  • You will read and interpret documents prints safety rules work instructions and operating procedures.
  • Fabricate of precision windows and lenses including the operation of continuous pitch polishers multispindle polishers; Blanchard Mill; double sided grinders and polishers; CNC generating and polishing machines
  • Clean inspect and package optical windows and lenses using established procedures.
  • Inspect parts using micrometers dial indicators test plates and interferometers.
  • In addition to good manual dexterity and handeye coordination this job requires standing 8090 and walking short distances 1020 bending at the waist 20 lifting and/or carrying < 25lbs.

Qualifications you must have:

  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience is described as follows:
    • Experience using documents prints safety rules work instructions and/or operating procedures.
    • Setup/operate production process equipment/hardware and/or test equipment
    • Work or practical use of microscope
    • Work history using a computer and Microsoft Office (e.g. Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint SharePoint etc.
    • Hand tools for dimensioning (e.g. Micrometers height gauges depth mics calipers etc.
  • Must have experience in at least one of the following: continues pitch polisher (CP) multispindle polishers Blanchard Mill double sided grinders and/or polishers.

Qualifications we prefer:

  • 510years of experience operatingmulti spindle polishers continuous pitch polishers
  • Experience inspecting optical components using interferometers and profilometers (Metrology)
  • Experience producing plano windows spherical lenses
  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide all units using whole numbers common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read and interpret documents prints safety rules work instructions and operating procedures.
  • Good manual dexterity skills and handeye coordination
  • Professional positive effective teamwork skills are critical to the success of the fabrication department and individual.
