PositionSummary:
St. Francis de Sales Cathedral School is seeking apassionate and dedicated 4th and 5thGrade Math Teacher to join our exceptional faculty for theschoolyear. The ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic with a strongunderstanding of mathematics and a proven ability to engage and inspire younglearners. This individual will be responsible for creating a dynamic andsupportive classroom environment where students develop a deep understanding ofmathematical concepts and build essential problemsolving skills.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implementengaging differentiated and rigorous math lessons aligned with Diocesan andschool curriculum standards for both 4th and 5th grade.
Foster a classroomenvironment that promotes active learning critical thinking collaborationand a love of mathematics.
Utilize a variety ofinstructional strategies and resources to meet the diverse learning needs ofall students.
Assess studentprogress regularly through formative and summative assessments providingtimely and constructive feedback to students and parents.1
Maintain accurate andorganized records of student performance.
Communicateeffectively and professionally with parents regarding student progress andclassroom activities.
Collaborate withcolleagues administrators and support staff to ensure a cohesive andsupportive learning environment.
Actively participatein schoolwide initiatives faculty meetings and professional developmentopportunities.
Uphold and promotethe Catholic mission and values of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral School in allaspects of teaching and interactions.
Supervise students invarious school settings including but not limited to the classroom hallwaysand playground.
Integrate technologyeffectively into math instruction.
Perform other dutiesas assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree inEducation Mathematics or a related field.
Valid Louisianateaching certification or eligibility for certification.
Strong knowledge ofelementary mathematics curriculum and best practices in mathematicsinstruction.
Demonstrated abilityto differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Excellent classroommanagement and organizational skills.
Strong communicationinterpersonal and collaboration skills.
Practicing Catholicin good standing is preferred.
Experience teaching4th and/or 5th grade mathematics preferred.
Familiarity witheducational technology and its integration into the classroom.
A commitment to themission and philosophy of Catholic education.
