Job Description:
Pitney Bowes is hiring for a Truck Driver I for our Romulus MI facility.
Join our team and earn $18.25 per hour!
Shift: 11:30am 6:30pm MF with a Saturday shift from 1p5p

You are:
Performance driven individual who is committed to provide innovative service to our clients. You are approachable and relationshiporiented as you contribute to Pitney Bowes success.
You will:
Picks up and delivers mail from our customers by operating a company van weighing up to 10000 GVWR
Inspects assigned vehicle per the Pitney Bowes pretrip inspection guidelines and procedures.
Reports any defective findings to the Transportation Supervisor
Maintains a daily drivers log or route sheet for mileage and cargo
Inspects products to verify conformance to customer and USPS specifications and regulations
Ensures that the mail is reviewed for proper dates presort slugs and a pickup slip is attached with each order prior to loading on the truck
Promotes a clean work area to prevent possible injuries and/or tripping hazards to self and others.
Assists in dispatch area between assigned pickups
Assist with the presorting of mail on the production floor
All other duties as assigned
As a Van Driver you have:
- Valid state motor vehicle operators license
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good customer services skills a must
- Minimum age of 18 years old
- Ability to read a map and understand directions with or without accommodations
- Ability to understand and become knowledgeable with USPS regulations and managing standards with or without accommodations
- Ability to lift push and/or carry up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodations
- Ability to drive a Van up to 10000 GVWR
- Regularly sit and/or stand for long periods of time with or without accommodations
- A Minimum of six months experience driving a similar sized vehicle with a safe driving record
- Must have the ability to work mandatory overtime that may include weekends holidays and or a different shift with little or no advance notice
- Ability to meet and comply with all applicable US Department of Transportation requirements for preemployment and post hire
- Satisfactory completion of our preemployment process which may include DOT driving tests drug screens and background verifications.
- Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language to respond to official inquiries and to make entries on reports and records

For completing this work Presort Services receives discounted postage rates. By performing this sorting work on behalf of our clients weare able toshare a portion of that discount with them. We provide mailers with endtoend solutions from pickup at their location into delivery into the postal system network providing optimal postage savings.
