Job Description

Overview

The Neurobehavioral Unit (NBU) is a unique 16 bed unit dedicated to the assessment and treatment of children and young adults with severe treatmentresistant behavioral disorders. The NBU serves patients with a variety of diagnoses including: autism spectrum disorder developmental delay intellectual disability sleep disorders seizure disorders feeding disorders stereotypic movement disorder with selfinjurious behavior and various genetic metabolic and chromosomal disorders. The NBU has served patients from across the country and around the world offering a specialized integrated and targeted application of behavioral and pharmacological interventions.

This position is 36 hours per week three 12 hour shifts Day(7:00am7:30pm)/ Late Day 11:00am11:30pm)/ Night 7:00pm7:30am) rotation

What We Will Provide for You

Understanding of the importance of cultural competent care when working with patients and families from across the United States and around the world.
The tools to learn effective communication with the patients families and interdisciplinary team
Education about how to perform skills related to: management of Gtubes management of seizures blood draws/specimen collection EKG collection administering medications applying and removing protective equipment (arm restraints posey mitts waterproof arm restraints gloves knee pads neck rolls and singlet) vital sign collection Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) pre and post care identifying unsafe behaviors (aggression dangerous acts selfinjurious behaviors) and providing appropriate interventions as trained on the NBU

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN or enrolled in a BSN program to be completed within 2 years of hiring date.


Experience: Experience with pediatric and/or developmentally disabled population preferred.


Certification: Current CPR certification that included hands on skills

Minimum pay range

USD $26.99/Hr.

Maximum pay range

USD $46.92/Hr.
