Description
Curtis is seeking a summer daycamp Swim Instructor to join a supportive inclusive and educational learning community as a member of the camp team. Curtis School is a DK6 coed elementary school whose mission is to develop in every child a sound mind in a sound body governed by a compassionate heart.
As a Swim Instructor youll be responsible for teaching campers of various ages and skill levels how to swim improving their water safety skills and ensuring a fun and secure environment at the camp pool.

Duties and Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:
- Teach swim lessons to campers of varying ages and skill levels using approved curriculum and techniques.
- Plan and lead engaging waterbased activities and games that promote confidence and enjoyment in the water.
- Supervise campers during instructional and recreational swim periods maintaining constant visual contact and attentiveness.
- Assists in monitoring and cleaning locker room area(s) and related facilities and equipment.
- Be prepared to respond swiftly to emergencies including performing water rescues and administering first aid/CPR.
Attend and participate in all required staff training safety drills and team meetings. - Serve as a positive role model for campers demonstrating enthusiasm respect and professionalism.
Qualifications
A successful candidate must:
- Current Lifeguard Certification (Red Cross or equivalent) preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certifications required.
- Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification preferred.
- Prior experience teaching swim lessons or working with children in aquatic settings is a strong plus.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- High level of responsibility patience and energy.
- Be available to work from June 23 2025 August 1 2025
- Be able to adhere to a 8:30 am 2:30 pm daily work schedule
