Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) specific to gas distribution construction projects.
- Oversee training programs to ensure all personnel are qualified and aware of current quality procedures and standards.
- Conduct regular audits inspections and reviews to ensure compliance with internal procedures client specifications and industry standards (DOT PHMSA API etc..
- Monitor field performance utilizing applicable measures and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects rework and safety risks.
- Manage NCR (NonConformance Report) tracking root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action plans.
- Collaborate with project managers superintendents and field crews to reinforce quality best practices and proactive problemsolving.
- Organize and document recurring QC meetings with the superintendents to report on field and QA/QC program performance/initiatives
- Conduct preparatory initial and followup meetings to establish an understanding of the standards of care desired for each definable feature of work as required
- Work with Materials Coordinator to verify and document all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal are handled and stored appropriately and are installed and acceptable for use in the project
- Conduct preconstruction meetings with new and existing subcontractors and the superintendent as required to discuss issues that affect quality
- Prepare and present quality reports and metrics to internal leadership and client representatives.
- Create update and maintain the project submittal log and all other project specific quality control reports
- Coordinate and document the testing and commissioning of systems
- Audit project Closeout documents to ensure documents meet applicable client/program requirements
- Assemble and forward project closeout documents that include asbuilts retirement drawings testing documents procedures and Materials (BRIO)
- Serve as primary contact for client qualityrelated communications inspections and audits.
- Stop work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety quality and/or inhibit the logical progress of work
Education Skills and Certifications
- B.S. in Construction Management Engineering or related field preferred
- 10 years experience working on construction projects with at least 2 years experience as a QC manager
- Strong knowledge of federal and state pipeline safety regulations (DOT/PHMSA) utility standards and construction QA/QC practices.
- Experience working with clients such as utilities municipalities or pipeline operators.
- Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials methods and techniques
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Demonstrate a professional demeanor
- Valid drivers license with good motor vehicle record
- Prior field experience in gas distribution or underground utility construction and familiarization with associated work procedures i.e. excavation trenching fusing welding coatings restoration etc. preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification is ideal.
- Working knowledge of GIS ESRI Survey 123 asbuilts and job site documentation processes preferred.
Salary Range: $120K $130K
