Job Description

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW

The main object and purpose of this position is to ensure accurate receiving and shipping of specialty gases products in order to satisfy internal and external customer needs. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels controlling backorders and assisting in managing dead stock and turns. The candidate must also keep good records of upcoming and outgoing stock levels. The incumbent must also maintain the organization of the plant all while promoting ALCs health and safety objectives.
  • Receiving and Inspecting Inventory verifying against purchase orders ensuring accurate quantities and quality. Take corrective actions in the instance of overages shortages damaged or incorrect items late shipments and claim and improper documentation.

  • Maintain all back order on files and advise on shipment dates.

  • Preparing Shipment: Pack and label outgoing orders accurately ensuring proper packaging for safe handling and transit and preparing shipping documents including creating and closing documents in internal system.

  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels stock location movement of goods and utilizing the inventory management system. Applies labelling and organizes the stock for optimal picking and inventory counts. Conducts periodic cycle counts on products.

  • Sorts and stores materials and equipment when needed. Ensure that all products are moved and stored in a safe manner. Picks orders and/or assists with picking for drivers and industrial shippers/receivers.

  • Shipping according to schedule and investigating backorders and ensuring timely and costeffective transportation.

  • Organization and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment ensuring efficient movement and storage of dangerous goods

  • Manage min/max of stock and work closely with the asset team in order to resolve any dysfunction and propose appropriate corrective measures.

  • Close shipping documents in system and keep accurate records of shipment

  • Maintain a personal liaison with Customers Account Executives Shipping Laboratory and Production departments and communicate effectively with internal department and external customers regarding shipment status issue or inquiries to ensure smooth logistics flow

  • Assist with daily production action plans and ensure it is aligned with logistics team in order to ensure operations efficiency

Others

  • Continuous improvement: Works closely with filling plant operators and laboratory technicians to resolve any problems or find new ways in which to improve the efficiency of all activities on site.

  • Safety/Quality: Promotes ALC safety objectives. Knows and respects all procedures pertaining to the filling plants. Is involved in safety programs and active on the floor with BSVs and maintaining a safe work environment.

Are you a MATCH

  • Diploma: High School diploma and/or combination of education and experience in industrial/manufacturing environment

  • Forklift and pallet jack experience and valid driving license

  • Ability to repetitively lift 5060 lbs unassisted

  • Transportation and Dangerous Goods training preferred

  • Knowledge: Inventory knowledge & Logistics/Operational transport control is an asset computer literate data processing problem solving detail oriented and customer oriented

Working Conditions
