The Opportunity:
Search Discovery and Content Intelligence (SDC) technology is a critical part of Adobes product capabilities offering AIpowered Search Browse Recommendations RAG assistive workflow capabilities and conversational agents. Adobes products are all about creating amazing multimedia and multimodal rich content. Creative professionals enterprise users and novice users alike need quick access to their digital assets ingredients style libraries and the wide variety of creative content they work with every day from brushes to colors images design assets videos and audi o . Users need to discover contextually inspirational rich media content assets their teams have created or from Adobe Stock s digital marketplace Adobe community content and more.
The SDC team power s Search Recommendation and Assistive experiences in flagship Adobe products including Adobe Express Stock Photoshop Illustrator Lightroom Acrobat and . We focus on developing innovative AIpowered search recommendations and assistive experiences using generative AI technologies across all modalities including text image and videos and creating industryleading experiences to improve creative efficiency for creators marketers and designers. We leverage and finetune LLMs vLLMs transformers vector search and RAG transformer relevance models and neural agents to power our innovative technology stack.
We are looking for a Senior ML Scientist with deep handson expertise in AI powered information retrieval (IR recommender systems with focus on r anking Multimodal content.
What Youll Do:
- Build and Scale AIPowered Information Retrieval Capabilities: Construct scalable multimodal and multilingual search and discovery systems to improve the discovery experience in Adobes flagship products.
- Develop Innovative Ranking Models: Build brand new ranking models using technologies like Transformers Multimodal Embeddings and LambdaMART. Optimize these algorithms for relevance and performance.
- Collaborate with Core Services and Integrations: Work closely with product engineering teams to integrate ranking models within RESTful services. Measure quality through offline and online evaluation systems and AB tests.
- Improve retrieval quality with embeddings and vector search.
- DataDriven Insights and Analytics: Use data analytics to evaluate system performance understand user feedback and drive continuous improvements.
What you will bring:
- MS with 8 years of work experience or PhD with 6 years of work experience
- Handson experience in building largescale search and recommendation rankers using advanced technologies like Transformers and Language models.
- Deep expertise in search relevance ranking and retrieval systems including vector search and multimodal data handling.
- Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Experience with ElasticSearch HBase Kafka/SQS and realtime processing frameworks like Apache Storm.
- Knowledge of advanced concepts such as Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) multimodal search and neural agents.
- Proven ability to develop scalable faulttolerant systems and GPUbased processing pipelines.
- Strong analytical skills with a passion for bringing to bear data to drive decisions and improvements.
At Adobe for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC base commission) and shortterm incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Nonsales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and shortterm incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition certain roles may be eligible for longterm incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
