Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking Food Services Assistantto join our hospitality team on acasual basis. In this fast paced and varied environment you will take pride in your work have a friendly and positive work attitude and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
You will assist in effectively servingour patient doctor and staff meals with particular attention to patient dietary needs & assist with function catering at a consistently high standard and within HACCP guidelines.
About us
Come and join our expert team of surgeons specialist doctors dedicated nurses and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private are a 189 bed acute private hospital facility colocated on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.
We also havea cardiac suite includinga cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery isavailable for families in the Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
As a Food Service Assistantyour responsibilities will include:
Assist in daily food preparation and basic meal assembly
Deliver serve and collect all patient food requirements and meal trays
Assist in general cleaning of kitchen equipment and utensils including dish and pot washing as required.
Act as a valued member of an interdisciplinary team by promoting a professional and positive team culture.
Provide high standard of customer service
Operate in line with WHS policy & procedures
Deliver excellent customer service to staff clients and patients
Have demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development
Essential Criteria:
Authority to Work in Australia
Working with Children check
2 years experience in a similar role within a Hospital or Aged care environment
Completed Basic Food Handling Training (or working towards)
Certificate III in Hospitality (or working towards)
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
Excellent time management skills
Commitment to service excellence
Strong communication and customer skills
Attention to detail
Work well independently and within a team
Available for a variety of shifts & on call shifts
