The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Directors Office.
The Website Developer supports staff across the agencys 12 divisions to create modify or develop innovative designs to enhance website content. While working within the Communications Office (CO) team and agency website editors and publishers the incumbent will lead an effort and develop a plan to improve the overall website design and structure. Essential technical skills include expert abilities in website page design web publishing thorough knowledge of web page construction and strong project management skills. Duties include working with others on the CO team to ensure adequate usability accessibility and performance of the website. This position will also contribute to the effort to provide training for staff to ensure documents are Section 508 compliant. The position provides website training and supports Moodle GovDelivery AccessGov and ARCGIS platforms.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
- Expert abilities in web publishing thorough knowledge of web page construction including thorough knowledge of Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) JavaScript CSS and graphics packages such as the Adobe Creative Suite. Ability to create and quickly implement clear effective web pages. Familiarity with SASS is desired.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations regarding websites (disability regulations legal disclaimers proper content etc..
- Knowledge of web standards such as Section 508 and ability to develop contentrich solutions in a standardscompliant environment.
- Familiarity with content management systems.
- Meet minimum qualifications:
- Combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelors degree in graphic design Information Technology English Communications Information Management Journalism Marketing or a closely related field or a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelors degree.
- Two years of progressively responsible related experience of professional webbased content management including web page layout content and design; electronic/web publishing or web editing and content management and internet research. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a casebycase basis.
- Preferred work experience includes Figma EnVision Canva graphic design web design writing web content electronic marketing metadata designing or maintaining websites and social media.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered on a casebycase basis.

Additional Information
This position may be eligible for partial teleworkwithin the state of conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.
This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective July 1 2025 and July 1 2026.
The primary location for this position may be open for consideration contingent on available workspace. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state and DPHHS policies.
