Job Description Summary:

Under the guidance of the Chief Nursing Officer and/or their designee the Clinical Administrator will plan organize direct and evaluate all clinical and business activities and operations of the multispecialty surgery center. This role shall provide direction and evaluation for the organizations programs and activities including but not limited to the quality performance improvement risk management and safety and delegate other responsibilities to surgery center staff as appropriate. This role is responsible for the planning organization direction and evaluation of activities of clinical and business operations to ensure professional medical and nursing care compliance with regulatory agencies and established standards practices and procedures.

Job Requirements Prerequisites and Essential Functions:

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelors degree from a fouryear accredited college or university

Preferred: Masters Degree in Nursing or Health Management preferred (MSN MA MS MBA MHA or MPA)

EXPERIENCE

Required: at least 3 years in nursing leadership administration or management

Preferred: Experience in business development and marketing

PREREQUISITE SKILLS

Strong leadership and supervisory abilities Understanding of clinical and operational aspects of a multispecialty surgery center Knowledge of quality improvement safety and risk management Proficiency in budget development finance and reporting Ability to manage credentialing and regulatory compliance; knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations applicable to the outpatient surgery center medical staff educational programs and accepted industry standards for provision of organized medical staff administrative services Ability to work collaboratively as part of a leadership team Experience developing training programs aligned with company values Strategic thinking and effective problem solving Excellent communication and customer service skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet applications

LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire (AHAaccredited)

Employees in this position have access to protected health information. The protected health information a person in this position can access includes demographics date of service insurance/billing medical record summary information and all other information that may be contained in patient records. This position requires patient health information to perform the functions outlined as part of this position description.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

ESSENTIAL

Oversees all aspects of clinical and business operations at designated Surgery Center Develops and implements policies for safety quality and compliance to ensure the provision on one level of care or services for all patients Manages performance improvement risk management and credentialing Oversees center finances including budgeting AR billing and vendor contracts Develops marketing strategies and maintains community relations Highly structured in approach to operations and patient care; Ability to demonstrate a high capacity for work and flexibility Demonstrated problemsolving skills Onsite presence and responsive to issues in a timely manner Ability to communicate (orally and written) and display strong interpersonal skills effectively with diverse others including but not limited to colleagues reporting personnel medical staff patients/families and community members. Ability to clearly communicate using a variety of media in particular electronic/virtual Seeks factual information prior to communicating and decision making; corrects misinformation as it surfaces in an open and transparent manner Coordinates monitors and ensures performance in following areas:

OR block utilization

turnover times (TOT)

first case on time starts (FCOTS)

labor productivity

Labor management productivity (position control/vacancies hourly rates/OT traveler use etc. and licensure/certifications requirements (RN BLS etc. Ensures all regulatory requirements are met (e.g. CMS OSHA CLIA) Directs workforce planning training and performance management; ensures nursing and other staff competency and Maintains compliance with employment laws and Surgery Center standards Participates in executive and staff meetings as required Performs other duties as assigned

The selected candidates compensation will be determined based on the individuals skills experience internal/market equity factors and qualifications. This posted minimum and maximum range represents the minimum and maximum of what we reasonably expect to compensate for the position. Furthermore all compensation decisions are ultimately determined in accordance with our compensation philosophy. Compensation for positions covered by collective bargaining agreements are governed by the agreements in the aforementioned document.
