Position: Maintenance Manager

Department: Facilities

Reports To: Operations Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday Friday 8hour shifts weekends and holidays as needed

Position Description:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the maintenance department including planning coordinating and supervising maintenance activities. This role ensures the optimal performance safety and longevity of machinery equipment and systems while maintaining compliance with health and safety standards. The Maintenance Manager provides strong leadership attention to detail and effective communication to support the departments operations.


Essential: Duties/ Responsibilities may include the following or other duties as assigned:

  • Coordinate and schedule routine and preventative maintenance repairs and inspections.
  • Oversee and manage the work order system to track maintenance requests and ensure timely completion.
  • Manage departmental employees which includes management of work assignments monitoring performance handling complaints taking necessary disciplinary action distributing work and determining best work practices while monitoring direct reports responsibilities progress and job skills.
  • Manage departmental workflows to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in daily operations.
  • Provide ongoing training to staff on maintenance policies procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ensure all equipment systems and machinery are operating at peak efficiency.
  • Conduct inspections and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues promptly.
  • Oversee the installation of new equipment and the upgrade of existing systems.
  • Prepare and manage the maintenance department budget ensuring costeffective purchasing of parts tools and supplies.
  • Enforce safety protocols to ensure adherence to a safe working environment for the maintenance team proper licensing is current as needed comprehensive training adherence to customer service and sales goals etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all local state and federal regulations related to equipment and facility maintenance.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or services.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse to align maintenance schedules and ensure the safety and efficiency of warehouse systems.
  • Negotiate contracts monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with service agreements.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities including repairs inspections and parts replacement.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to management on maintenance operations and performance.
  • Lead emergency repairs in case of breakdowns minimizing downtime and disruptions; Establish safety guidelines for maintenance operations.
  • Ensure that maintenance staff is available and prepared for urgent issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse department to execute projects effectively.
  • Oversee daily operations including controlling inventory quality assurance and customer service.
  • Participate in business planning and forecasting to ensure alignment with organizational goals
  • Promote a culture of effective communication teamwork and professionalism across departments.
  • Perform related duties and assist others as required or assigned by Facilities Manager.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Maintain professional and courteous appearance and demeanor.

  • Ability to read and write checklists reports and correspondence. Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions memos etc.
  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Proven skills in business and financial management.
  • Excellent attention to detail organizational and communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be proficient in using a variety of hand and power tools logistic software and all Microsoft office programs.


Education and Experience:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.   • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelors or completion of relevant trade school preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in maintenance operations and some formal training in one or all of the following areas required: carpentry plumbing painting HVAC refurbishing and cleaning.
  • Previous experience in lead or management role preferred.
  • Minimum: OSHAcompliant forklift operating training and certification.
  • Experience with maintenance management practices and procedures.


Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The overall nature of the position is extremely active requiring heavy physical exertion.   • Ability to sit stand walk bend stoop kneel crouch speak and use hands frequently.
  • Strong vision including the ability to focus on both close and distant objects and the ability to use computer equipment and barcode scanners.
  • Ability to work in noisy conditions.
  • Exposure to environmental conditions such as heat cold and temperature changes.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and 5075 pounds regularly.
  • The role requires heavy physical exertion and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
