Position Overview:
This role is a fulltime nontenure track continuing instructor position for the School of Engineering within the College of Mathematics and Science at the University of Central Oklahoma. The instructor will provide a quality learning experience for students. Performs instructionrelated duties and responsibilities on time and per university and CMS mission policies and procedures. The candidate will work to strengthen the School of Engineering FirstYear Engineering Program designed to promote student success and support the transition of students into the schools engineering programs. They advise and mentor students evaluate student performance and maintain department and student records per university policies. The instructor will adhere to the university educational philosophy work collaboratively with colleagues and professional peers and participate in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty. The candidate will serve on school college and university committees as requested; prepare departmental reports as required; engages in teaching service scholarly or creative activities as defined by the UCO Employee and Faculty Handbook.
School Specific Essential Job Functions:
Specific instructor duties include teaching day/evening classes graduate/undergraduate courses and facetoface/online courses appropriate to their engineering background. Responsibilities include teaching the Introduction to Engineering and Introduction to Robotics for Engineers courses supporting the Schools Engineering Student Mentor program supporting recruitment activities supporting and organizing department outreach activities and supporting assessment activities related to the departments ABETaccredited programs. The successful candidate will have opportunities to participate in and promote collaborative undergraduate research and creative scholarly activities with other department faculty in their engineering field or the field of engineering education. Additional responsibilities will include serving on school college and university committees; and service activities appropriate to rank and appointment. Reports to the Director of the School and the Dean of the College.

The College of Mathematics and Science currently has 128 fulltime and over 70 parttime faculty in 5 academic departments and the Schools of Engineering and Nursing. The College serves more than 3300 undergraduate students in 30 majors and provides graduate programs in Biology Computer Science Data Science Cybersecurity Applied Mathematics and Computer Science Applied Mathematical Science Engineering Computational Science and Nursing. Accreditation/Certification is held by ABET the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) the American Board of Funeral Service Education and the American Chemical Society.
