Job Description
Job Title: Automation Engineer Siemens PLC (S71500
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Engineer with 4 6 years of handson experience in Siemens PLC programming particularly with the S71500 series. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing testing commissioning and supporting PLCbased automation systems across industrial applications. This role involves both onsite and offsite work with crossfunctional teams to ensure smooth automation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and maintain automation solutions using Siemens S71500 PLCs.
- Create and modify PLC programs using TIA Portal.
- Perform system testing simulation and validation of PLC logic.
- Handle troubleshooting and debugging of existing PLC programs and hardware systems.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams (Electrical Mechanical and Production) to integrate automation solutions.
- Prepare documentation for control systems including IO lists wiring diagrams and logic descriptions.
- Participate in FAT/SAT system commissioning and provide technical support during project .
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Train and mentor junior engineers or technicians when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree or diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Mechatronics Engineering.
- 4 6 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems.
- Strong proficiency in Siemens PLCs especially S71500 and TIA Portal.
- Good understanding of SCADA/HMI systems (preferably Siemens WinCC).
- Experience in troubleshooting field equipment and control systems.
- Solid knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g. Profinet Profibus).
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
- Experience in industries like Automotive Pharma FMCG or Process industries.
- Familiarity with VFDs Servo systems and industrial sensors.
- Knowledge of safety PLCs and standards (e.g. SIL IEC 61508.
