The Behavioral Health EAP Consultant II (Wellbeing Support ConsultantWSC) has the primary responsibility of providing a range of EAP and wellbeing services. These services may include health and wellness training presentations critical incident stress debriefings management consultations reduction in workforce support mindfulness activities threat assessment team participation working with Human Relations Security Belonging & Inclusion and other Employee Relations groups as onsite Behavioral Health/EAP Consultant II position although onsite is currently in hybrid status at the clients organizationin New York and New Jersey.
Location: New York City NY and Jersey City NJ; Will need to be onsite 35 days a week
Shift: Monday Friday; 8:30am 5:00pm ET
How you will make an impact:
Participate as part of the Wellbeing Support Clinician (WSC) department by responding to initial customer contacts and request for services; receives client requests assesses situation determines appropriate course of action.
Provides telephonic video and onsite support for crisis intervention assessment shortterm problem resolution and referral to appropriate provider(s).
Manages Critical Incident Stress Debriefing requests.
Applies specialized knowledge in substance use intimate partner violence (domestic abuse) grief counseling workplace problems and management consultation.
Provides consultation and crisis management in partnership with managers Security Human Resources and other leadership of the contracted organization.
Adheres to state and federal licensing laws and regulations such as duty to warn mandatory reporting record maintenance retention and release.
Remains abreast of relevant mental health EAP regulatory and legislative developments and laws impacting workplace and employees.
Promotes EAP and clinical services support; acts as an ambassador for mental health initiatives at the designated site location through promotional activities and relationship building with key site contacts.
Provides training presentations for various topics related to mental health reduction in force and promotional topics for the program.
Collaborates with Director Account Manager and Team Lead on contract related concerns.
Minimum requirements:
Requires minimum of 5 years of direct mental health counseling and/or substance use experience.
Requires masters degree and current unrestricted license such as (but not limited to) LPC (as allowed by applicable state laws) LCSW LMSW LMFT LMHC.
Preferred skills capabilities and experiences:
Working knowledge of virtual platforms and expert use of MS PowerPoint.
Proficient in professional written business communications.
Knowledge of and prior work in Employee Assistance Program environment is preferred.
CEAP preferred.
Proficient with MS Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint Teams or similar systems and health records.
If not already possessing a NY and NJ license for counseling obtain such a license within one year of hire.
