Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our culinary team at the St. James Hotel. As a Line Cook you will assist the Chef in preparing and executing delicious meals according to our seasonal menus while maintaining high standards of quality cleanliness and safety. If you have a passion for cooking a keen eye for detail and the ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment we want to hear from you.
- Prepare all foods for daily service in accordance with seasonal menus and health/sanitation guidelines.
- Cook hot and cold food products accurately and efficiently.
- Assist in food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing.
- Ensure proper portioning and cooking of all menu items.
- Maintain a clean safe and sanitary kitchen environment.
- Communicate effectively with the Chef to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Address guest complaints and problems professionally to ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications :
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work safely in a kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
- Understanding of standardized recipes and cooking terminology.
- Ability to calculate proportions percentages and volume.
- Familiarity with food allergens and dietary restrictions.
- Attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with kitchen operations and scratch cooking.
- Ability to multitask with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in creating visual food presentations.
- Strong critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Strong communication skills both written and oral.
- Commitment to cleanliness and teamwork.
