Job Description

The Job Mission
This Mechanical Commissioning Engineer role supports the Operational Control Centre (OCC) and preoperations structure at Hinkley Point C.


You will contribute to work management implementation and commissioning strategy.
Your missions focus on supporting asset readiness and future plant operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and specify Commissioning Work Order Cards aligned with system needs
  • Collaborate with commissioning and preoperations teams to streamline delivery
  • Support maintenance planning within the Enterprise Asset Management System
  • Provide input into standards and processes aligned with WANO AP928
  • Contribute to asset reliability by identifying routine maintenance tasks
  • Liaise with stakeholders to resolve open points and ensure safe delivery
  • Assist in technical handover from commissioning to operations

 


Qualifications :

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in mechanical engineering discipline
  • Experience in mechanical installation or commissioning on large construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of Engineering Drawings and Maintenance Manuals
  • Familiarity with APSA risk assessments and safety documentation
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office and asset management systems
  • Familiarity with construction risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Experience supporting or overseeing contractor activities during commissioning
  • Experience with Asset Suite or similar tools
  • Understanding of routine maintenance planning in complex systems

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of WANO AP928 standards
  • Background in nuclear site work or UK nuclear fleet
  • Familiarity with license conditions and compliance
  • Exposure to Enterprise Asset Management development
