The Dental Hygiene program trains students to become Dental Hygienists and is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching dental hygiene theory labs and clinics. Lead instructor responsibilities will be assigned in various subject areas including firstyear and secondyear restorative theory labs and clinics. Those responsibilities include new applicant screening as well as the development organization and implementation of calibration procedures with clinical faculty members. Lead instructors also participate in regular meetings and reporting as part of ongoing accreditation work. In addition to teaching and lead instructor responsibilities the successful candidate will contribute to advising students assisting with assessment of current instructional methods developing programs and curricula and will participate in department division and campusrelated professional activities with opportunities to participate in Shoreline Community College governance.This position will be primarily located in the UW School of Dentistry campus 1959 NE Pacific St. Seattle WA 98195.


Faculty at Shoreline will have an array of students from differing programs in their classroom including professional technical and university transfers. Physical Work Environment:
Dental Hygiene instruction is conducted via a combination of inperson and online instruction. For oncampus inperson instruction work is usually performed in a classroom/office/lab space that requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Faculty typically use computers media equipment and subject specific tools/technology in the work environment. This position will be primarily located in the UW School of Dentistry 1959 NE Pacific St. Seattle WA 98195.

Term Of Employment/Salary:

This is a fulltime tenure track position with a 172day annual contract beginning September 18 2025. Salary placement is determined by the number of qualifying years of teaching/work experience combined with educational preparation. Hiring of this position is contingent upon available funding as determined by the College President. This position is overtimeexempt.
