The successful applicant will have a starting salary of $259440.

Rainier RHC is a state residential facility near Enumclaw Washington where adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities live and receive training to prepare for community placement.

Rainier School (RS) is a residential facility for adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities located in Buckley Washington established in 1939 and run by the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS)Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA providing medical care to patients with interesting and complex special needs. Each provider has a caseload of approximately 50 clients. Provider duties include attending to acute care concerns and providing medical management for chronic conditions performing a physical examination with comprehensive healthcare assessment for each client on a caseload upon admission annually and upon discharge. Providers also evaluate patients for preop surgery and are responsible for supervising the postoperative care of those patients when they return to the facility.

The mission of DDA and Rainier School is to make a positive difference in the lives of people served through offering services and resources to individuals and their families in a manner which meets their individual needs promotes human rights and dignity and supports everyday activities routines and relationships common to most citizens. The goal is for clients to learn the needed skills so that they will succeed in the community. The job of primary care provider is to empower them to reach this goal by optimizing their health. This is accomplished by providing annual physical exams sick visits quarterly drug reviews discussions with treatment teams and consultants and communications with guardians and hospitals.

Providers work with a support team of nurses psychologists clinical pharmacists and other health professionals providing longterm comprehensive care. We have both visiting consultants and an established referral base. No billing or inpatient hospital work but coordination of care with consultants is critical. Providers actually have time to call consultants and see patients together when consultants are on grounds.

Weekday hours are four 10hour days with shared phone / call duties at night; a 5day per week schedule is also possible. Calls are from our registered nurses regarding familiar patients but there is no required handson presence on grounds after hours. Experience or training with general geriatric and psychiatric medical care is preferred but with our support teamincluding professional staffit is easy to develop the additional skills and familiarity required. We offer one of the few supportive working environments without production restraints in Western Washington.

Pierce County employeesare eligible to receivean Orca Card for transportation needs.

Opportunities performed onsite at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for anadditional5 premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.

Your role within the RHC:

  • Attends to clients in the Rainier School Clinic per schedule and as needed.
  • Shares oncall duties during the day and call duties after hours.
  • Responds to medical emergencies on grounds with the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
  • Communicates with consultants and community providers to ensure continuity of care and proper medical management.
  • Responds to diagnostic testing.
  • Completes a comprehensive Annual Healthcare Assessment for each assigned client in conjunction with their Individual Habilitation Plan (IHP) meeting.
  • Communicates medical information to an Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and ensures the guardian/family has current medical information.
  • Performs medication reviews with an IDT on a scheduled basis for each client within a living unit.
What we are looking for:

  • A valid license to practice medicine and surgery in the State of Washington
  • Completion of an approved residency program in the designated specialty area (Neurology Family Medicine Internal Medicine Surgery Pathology OB/GYN or Physiatrist.
  • Eligibility for American Board certification is required.
