Salary: Branson uses a faculty salary scale that is based on education and years of experience and ranges annually from $85783.00$163900.00. The compensation and / or benefits will be prorated according to FTE and the duration of the assignment.

Job Summary:
Branson is looking for a maternity leave substitute for one of our history teachers for the Fall Semester 2025. This is a part time position at 80 FTE with responsibilities including teaching three sections of 9thgrade Modern World History. Bransons history curriculum emphasizes discussion based pedagogy and agentic engagement with students. Modern World History is a core course for 9th graders and the teachers collaborate closely collectively planning each unit of study individual lessons and assessments. History teachers form a strong team with all members of the department inspiring our engaged and motivated students to become the leaders of the next generation. While the position is only for the fall semester we are a collegial friendly faculty and youll feel like a part of a team both when teaching Modern World and as a part of the history department and school in general!
Course description:
MODERN WORLD HISTORY
3 units
Modern World History provides a study of the world from around 1500 (Colliding Worlds) to the present. The course will introduce students to the habits of mind used in the study of history: closereading and analysis of primary sources; articulating arguments grounded in evidence; participating in civil discourse; and writing historical analysis essays. Themes of the course include: identity faith and role of religion power and authority and exchange. Units of study include but are not limited to: early modern colliding worlds; revolutionary movements of the modern era; world wars decolonization and globalization. The course culminates in a History behind the Headlines Project where students analyze the historical antecedents of a global current event.
