CED strives to pay a competitive wage in the industry and regional market. The pay range for this position is $160000 to $200000 . The benefit includes eligibility to participate in 1 of 3 different BCBS of IL medical plans Dental (SunLife) Vision (EyeMed) Life and Disability Insurance 401(k) with a generous 6 match on a 6 contribution 11 Paid Holidays 5 paid Sick Days (based on a full year of employment. Director of Engineering Lead Innovation in Energetics for Space & Defense
Chemring Energetic Devices (CED) is expanding to meet the increasing demand for our missioncritical energetic devices used in space and defense applications. As a result weve created a new leadership role: Director of Engineering. This position will drive technical innovation process optimization and engineering excellence in the field of energetics and pyrotechnic systems.
Essential Job Function
1. Lead a team of engineers specializing in energetic devices ordnance systems and pyrotechnic actuators.
2. Provide technical expertise in energetics initiation systems and explosive mechanisms.
3. Oversee engineering processes resource planning and technical training.
4. Drive R&D initiatives for nextgeneration energetic devices.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Advanced degree preferred).
- 15 years of experience in Aerospace Defense or Space industry focusing on energetics ordnance or explosive devices.
- Strong background in initiators ignitors actuators pyro valves mechanical & electrical fuses.
- 5 years of leadership experience managing engineering teams in energetics or ordnance.
