The Department of Agriculture Conservation and Forestry Bureau of Parks and Lands Division is recruiting to fill three Seasonal 11 weeks) Full Time Lifeguard positions located at Damariscotta State Park in the Northern Region of Maine.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This is protective services work at state park beaches with responsibility for the protection and safety of visitors at the swimming facilities. An important feature of this work is recognizing potential dangers and hazards that an individual may be placed in and correcting the situation to prevent an accident or drowning. Work is performed under immediate supervision with the incumbent applying clear rules and guidelines independently.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Sixteen 16 years of age and successful completion of Lifeguard Competency Test.
LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class): Possession of a current/valid Lifeguard Certification current/valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification and current/valid First Aid Certification; and successful completion of the Lifeguard Academy.
Job offers to a new hire are conditional upon verification of credentials criminal record and drivers license check if applicable. Three references must be made available at the interview to include at least one workrelated reference. Anyone who meets the minimum qualifications of the position may apply.
