Position Overview:
Responsible for supporting large entity nursing strategy across a large healthcare entity. Ensures the integration of best practices regulatory compliance and innovative patient care models. This role is critical in advancing nursing excellence workforce development and patientcentered care while aligning with the organizations mission vision and strategic objectives.
This position may only be utilized at large entities within Sutter Health as defined as ABSMC CPMC MPHS SMCS & SRMC. Sutter Health Chief Nursing Officer must approve utilization of the role.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Strategic Nursing Leadership & System Integration:
- Assist in developing and executing enterprisewide nursing strategies to enhance patient outcomes operational efficiency and nursing practice.
- Provide leadership and oversight across multiple large entity hospitals service lines or care settings within system.
- Align nursing initiatives with organizational goals financial priorities and population health strategies.
Operational & Financial Management:
- Oversee nursing workforce planning staffing models and resource allocation to optimize clinical efficiency and patient care quality.
- Support budget planning cost management and operational performance in alignment with financial objectives.
- Utilize data analytics and evidencebased strategies to improve nursing performance and clinical outcomes.
Quality Patient Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to accreditation and regulatory requirements (e.g. Joint Commission CMS Magnet Recognition).
- Drive quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety infection control and clinical outcomes.
- Lead nursing research innovation and evidencebased practice implementation.
Nursing Workforce Development & Engagement:
- Champion recruitment retention and leadership development initiatives to strengthen the nursing workforce.
- Foster a culture of diversity equity inclusion and professional growth within the nursing community.
- Implement strategies to enhance nurse engagement satisfaction and resilience.
Interdisciplinary & Executive Collaboration:
- Serve as a key advisor to the nursing and executive leadership on nursingrelated matters.
- Collaborate with physicians administrators and department leaders to drive clinical transformation and operational excellence.
- Participate in systemwide committees and task forces focused on healthcare innovation and performance improvement.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
Masters degree required.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
RNRegistered Nurse
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
8 years recent relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Must be knowledgeable about health care and labor laws regulations accreditation requirements and clinical standards of practice.
- Must be familiar with various methods of care delivery productivity management leadership and quality improvement concepts.
- Must be familiar with all areas of professional clinical practice including the practice of medicine.
- Is cognizant of the principles of adult learning.
- Ability to plan lead organize and execute in areas of responsibility to achieve desired outcomes / results.
- Excellent interpersonal skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills especially in areas of negotiations and conflict resolution.
- Must have analytical problemsolving skills as well as the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with diverse others including colleagues managers and medical staff and be able to teach and develop others.
- Must be able to prioritize make decisions and set clear expectations for others and execute decisions in a timely manner.
- Experience with Lean methodologies including Daily Engagement System Value Stream Mapping Process Improvement Planning and Executive Kaizen events.
- Must be selfdirected forward thinking and innovative.

Pay Range is $138.09 to $220.95 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidates experience education skills licensure and certifications department equity training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
