Job Description
Position Summary
Competencies for Career Readiness Critical Thinking Peer Outreach Aide POA will apply critical thinking skills to develop and implement creative outreach and recruitment strategies that effectively identify engage and encourage eligible students to participate in TRIO SSS programs. Evaluate the effectiveness of outreach efforts and adjust approaches based on feedback and outcomes. Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism through reliable communication timely task completion ethical decisionmaking and respectful collaboration with students staff and campus partners. Develop workplace habits that reflect accountability initiative and a commitment to supporting TRIO SSSs mission. Responsibilities: POA will contact potential SSS participants via phone online meetings and/or through face to face interactions to provide information about the benefits or participating in SSS . POA will represent TRIO SSS at Gannon summer orientations the resource fair and other informational sessions POA will serve as an ambassador to communicate the benefits of joining TRIO SSS POA will share stories or information regarding their college experience and what theyve gained from participating in TRIO SSS POA will engage in enthusiastic dialogue with potential participants including answering questions about your college experience POA will record tasks completed and timesheet in daily log and will submit this information to the Student Worker Manager at the end of each week. POA will provide quality input on the development and refinement of the TRIO SSS Program. POA will provide and participate in development of marketing ideas to increase the awareness of the TRIO SSS Program Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
The ability to utilize office equipment including the standard use of a personal computer/laptop telephone and other equipment as required. The ability to lift and transport supplies such as brochures and applications from one location to another.
Required Qualifications
Must be an active TRIO SSS participant Knowledgeable of TRIO SSS services and resources Must be available on Orientation Days (June dates TBD Must be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement form Good Academic Standing Good communication skills and understanding of phone and online video etiquette
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Excel spreadsheets Experience with online video meetings Experience with meet and greets Experience with Social Media
