You will be part of the statewide Public Assistance Eligibility Team. Together we will help Alaskan families elders and those in need reach higher levels of independence and selfsufficiency. Eligibility Technicians assist the public by connecting them to a variety of public assistance programs and services our agency provides.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
This position is located in Kodiak AlaskaThis position joins a statewide eligibility workflow team in local Public Assistance offices across the state.
The work location is in our Kenai office located at: 211 Mission Rd Suite 101 Kodiak AK 99615.
Who We Are Looking For:
The ideal candidate will possess some or all of the following competencies in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed below:
- Customer Service:Works with clients and customers (that is any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces including the general public individuals who work in the agency other agencies or organizations outside State government) to assess their needs provide information or assistance resolve their problems or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
- Computer Skills:Uses computers software applications databases and automated systems to accomplish work.
- Resilience:Deals effectively with pressure; remains optimistic and persistent even under adversity. Recovers quickly from setbacks.
- SelfManagement:Sets welldefined and realistic personal goals; displays a high level of initiative effort and commitment towards completing assignments promptly; works with minimal supervision; is motivated to achieve; demonstrates responsible behavior.
- Oral Communication:Expresses information (for example ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example technical sensitive controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others attends to nonverbal cues and responds appropriately.

OR
One year performing similar work that developed knowledge and skills in applying program requirements and working with client customers in stressful situations.
Substitution:
Postsecondary education in such fields as sociology social work psychology counseling human services vocational rehabilitation developmental disabilities behavioral sciences business public administration or accounting may substitute for the required experience (undergraduate credits: 2.67 semester/4 quarter hours 1 month).Additional Required Information

WORK EXPERIENCE
