Job Description

Expertise in integrating Modbus and BACnet downstream devices into Copelands supervisory control systems. The BMS Integration Engineer will lead the implementation configuration and optimization of building automation systems (BAS) that enhance operational efficiency sustainability and system reliability in commercial and industrial environments.

As A BMS Integration Engineer You Will:

  • Integration & Configuration: Lead the integration of Modbus and BACnet devices into Copelands controllers ensuring seamless communication and system interoperability.
  • System Design & Implementation: Develop and implement automation control strategies to ensure compatibility efficiency and effective supervisory control systems.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to building automation devices networks and protocols (Modbus BACnet) both onsite and remotely.
  • System Optimization & Commissioning: Monitor and optimize control system performance for energy efficiency and stability and create or modify programming sequences for system commissioning.
  • Collaboration & Training: Collaborate with engineers field technicians and customers for successful project and provide documentation and training on system operation and best practices.

REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS:

  • Strong Background in electrical/ mechanical enigneering (or related fields) and 5 years of handson experience in building automation HVAC controls or industrial control systems with a focus on integrating Modbus and BACnet devices
  • Deep knowledge of Modbus RTU/TCP BACnet MSTP/IP protocols including configuring and troubleshooting communication networks.Familiarity with software tools used in BMS such as Building Automation Software (BAS) AutoCAD for system design and any proprietary applications used for integration and configuration
  • Ability to develop modify and debug automation programming (PLC DCS SCADA or other control systems)
  • Proficiency in creating technical documentation (control sequences system architecture diagrams commissioning reports) and providing clear training and support for endusers and maintenance teams
  • Ability to travel at least 30 at a time
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

PREFERRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of refrigeration or HVAC systems.
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency strategies and sustainability initiatives in building automation.
  • Experience working with supervisory controllers in retail industrial or commercial applications.
  • Familiarity with Copeland Supervisory Controllers:Experience with Copelands supervisory control systems or similar platforms.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g. Tridium Siemens Schneider or Honeywell) in building automation systems or HVAC controls are preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and interact with customers effectively.

Collaboration First Hybrid Work Arrangements:

This role is hybrid eligible with the requirement to be in office at least three days per week. Colleagues are expected to demonstrate a collaboration first mindset which is the understanding that teams will work together inperson and colleagues should be flexible to adjust their hybrid days based on business needs. You will have an opportunity to work with your team and leader to determine when you should be in office to drive meaningful connections and to best serve our customers.
