An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the finance department.
Duties & Responsibilities
Accurately record and maintain all financial transactions.
Update and manage the general ledger.
Reconcile all entries within the accounting system.
Record and allocate debits and credits appropriately.
Maintain the trial balance through regular reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
Perform account reconciliations to ensure transaction accuracy.
Apply knowledge of local regulations to meet reporting and compliance requirements.
Monitor and report on variances between actual and projected budgets.
Assist the Group Accountant with the preparation of financial statements.
Generate and issue customer invoices and maintain accurate records of payments.
Follow up on outstanding customer payments.
Ensure all financial records are accurate complete and compliant with legal standards.
Perform any other ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements:
Diploma in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a similar role.
Proven experience in supervising and managing junior accounting staff.
Strong proficiency in Excel and accounting systems preferably Sage Evolution or Business Central.
Indepth knowledge of accounting principles procedures and standards.
Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Professional assertive and able to communicate effectively at all levels.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Resilient under pressure and driven by results.
Demonstrates discretion and maintains confidentiality at all times.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical thinking and sound decisionmaking abilities.
A collaborative team player.
