You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor position. The successful candidate will teach and coordinate undergraduate organic chemistry courses oversee laboratory instruction and contribute to curriculum development and departmental service.
Each semester there will be 4 workload assignments that could involve any combination of the following
Teach Essentials of Organic and Biochemistry (CHEM 102 Organic Chemistry I (CHEM 307 Organic Chemistry I Laboratory (CHEM 308 Organic Chemistry II (CHEM 309 Organic Chemistry II Laboratory (CHEM 310 and/or coteach Advanced Synthesis Laboratory (CHEM 323.
Coordinate one of the following per semester: Organic Chemistry Laboratory I (CHEM 308 or Organic Chemistry Laboratory II (CHEM 310 course per semester including teaching the associated prelab discussion sections. Oversee Organic Chemistry Lab Instructors for the lab sections involved with the lab coordination duty ensuring smooth lab operations conducting regular meetings and finalizing lab manuals.
Enhance curriculum by collaborating with faculty to improve lecture and lab integration.
Provide supplemental instruction through the Chemistry Instructional Center.
Participate in departmental and university service as needed and/or based on interest.

Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry.

Salary starts at $55000 and is commensurate with experience. 9 month contract)
Our standard faculty contract is a 9month contract (unless otherwise noted) with pay and benefits spread over 12 months. This is a yearly renewable contract unless noted that the position is temporary. More information about faculty contract and work days is available here.
