Location: 200 Abraham Flexner Way Louisville KY 40202

About the unit
Jewish Hospital Main Downtown Campus is home to a 23bed recovery area where they provide service to a large population of patients from all over the country. The nurses in this area come with years of critical care experience that provide top notch care to services lines such as neurosurgery urology cardiac thoracic plastics vascular colorectal general and transplant surgeries. The surgical services area is open 24 hours a day365 days a year to cater to all cases including emergencies. Scheduled cases per day can range from 2540 with a nursetopatient ratio ranging from 1:1 to 5:1 based on ASPAN guidelines.

Jewish Hospital part of UofL Health is an internationally renowned hightech tertiary referral center developing leadingedge advancements in hand and microsurgery heart and lung care orthopedics and sports medicine neuroscience organ transplantation and outpatient care. The hospital is the site of the worlds first successful hand transplant and AbioCor implantable replacement heart procedures in addition to the first trial of adult cardiac stem cells in chronic heart failure. The UofL Health Trager Transplant Center is in a select group of hospitals nationwide that perform heart lung liver kidney pancreas and hand transplantation. The center also includes a Pancreas Disease Center a GI Motility Clinic and Advanced Heart Failure and VAD programs.
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky
Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required for some units
Associates degree from accredited college or University
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree from accredited college or University
