Part Time 9 hours per week
Fixedterm for nine months from June 2025
The Forest and Peatland programme and Edinburgh Earth Initiative are looking for a PhD student to contribute to a project on net zero travel. This 9month project aims to develop local businesses to deliver a net zero transport provision to Forest and Peatland programme sites.
This post will be appointed at Grade UE07 step 1 which is 40497 per annum pro rata 22.19 per hour).
Earth Fellowships are only open to current postgraduate and PhD students at the University of Edinburgh based in the UK. Please do not apply if you are not a current University of Edinburgh student.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Current University of Edinburgh PhD student in the academic year 24/25 and who will continue to be matriculated in the 25/26 academic year.
An interest in sustainablebusiness related research.
Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate complex information clearly both in writing and in oral presentations.
Ability to assimilate information from multiple sources and use statistical models and forecasting techniques to predict future consumption based on identified variables (demand size of market seasonality market trends).
Ability to work proactively with colleagues and external collaborators with a variety of expertise; understanding and valuing different points of view and building consensus.
Ability to investigate collate and analyse information to provide dependable business information for recommendations on future net zero (electric) local transport options for forest and peatland naturebased learning.
