About the Position
The principal function of this role is to support the team and the Director Risk Management in building a global risk management function which is able to provide insights and advice on risk management activities. The position requires a whole group approach to RMITs operations and is critical to ensuring that the risk management framework adequately covers key operational and strategic risks both domestically and offshore.
About You
This position is perfect for someone looking to further develop their skills in the risk management space as training and mentoring will be provided. We are seeking candidates with strong administrative and/or project management skills who excel at keeping operations moving smoothly. A keen attention to detail and the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels is essential.
Technical skills for this role include proficiency in Word PowerPoint and SharePoint for managing information. An understanding of RiskWare and Power BI is desirable however not essential. If you are highly organised have excellent time management skills and are looking to grow your career we want to hear from you!
To be successful in this position youll have:
Experience in risk management and/or compliance/audits this is not essential and any related discipline in the education sector will be considered.
Knowledge of industry and professional standards frameworks and tools to support risk management and compliance or any other related frameworks.
Writing management reports and managing governance reporting requirements.
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
Diagnostic and analytical skills to identify and drive creative and pragmatic improvements.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and build internal and external relationships.
Flexible adaptable with an ability to manage various tasks simultaneously while being proactive customer focused and solutions oriented.
Ability to work in a team environment with workload allocation and rotation as required balancing demand for services.
Proven ability to work with detail analysing data in an organised and objective matter to determine actions and recommendations based on data insights gathered.
Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholder groups and drive positive stakeholder experience while ensuring compliance with processes and policies.
About the Enterprise Risk Management Team
Enterprise Risk Management Team is a small but focused group reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The Enterprise Risk Management Team provides University wide risk management support to the various RMIT colleges/portfolios/entities in ensuring that risks are considered understood and effectively managed across all activities. Our team can provide guidance and advice on risk management including all the relevant tools and guides available to assist you in managing your risks. We also manage the protection and insurance arrangements within RMIT. We have a comprehensive insurance program protecting our assets staff and students.
Our services include:
Establishing and maintaining the Universityside risk management framework
Overseeing and reporting on RMIT Groups Risk Domains and Tier 1 Risks (i.e. the most material risks to the university)
Providing guidance/support to enable you to assess and manage your risks effectively
Insurance management services
