Job Description

Role:

The Captains Health & Fitness Spa is looking for friendly professional and customeroriented Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for members and guests ensuring a positive experience from the moment they walk in. This role involves greeting visitors answering questions and maintaining a welcoming and organized front desk area. We have part time and full time positions available. The Captains Club Hours of operation are Monday through Sunday from 6am to 9pm. Hours may fluctuate certain times of the year.

Responsibilities:

Greeting and Customer Service:

  • Welcome members and guests with a warm high energy and friendly attitude
  • Provide information about gym services memberships class schedules and other inquires
  • Assist with checkins signups and guest passes

Administrative Duties:

  • Answer phone calls and manage appointment bookings
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk area
  • Identify members accounts that are past due outstanding balances and/ or up for membership renewals
  • Based on a schedule the Front Desk staff are responsible for maintaining and cleaning member locker rooms disinfecting gym equipment and pool area
  • Front Desk staff is trained on water testing of pool and hot tub and recording data on a schedule.

Safety and Security:

  • Ensure the front desk area is secure and monitor entry and exit of members
  • Complete opening or closing duties & responsibilities
  • Enforce gym policies and procedures including health and safety requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional education or certification in fitness health business administration water testing (CPO) or related fiends is a plus
  • Previous experience in customer service reception or a related field preferred.
  • Skill and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients staff and management
  • Interpersonal Skills Friendly and approachable demeanor with strong customer service skills
  • Organizational Skills Strong ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Attention to Detail Careful attention to details especially in handling memberships scheduling and transactions
  • Multitasking Capable of handling a busy fastpaced environment and performing various task simultaneously
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds which may including handling equipment or supplies
  • Passion for Fitness:
  • A genuine interest in fitness and health reflecting a positive attitude towards gym services and members.
  • Positive Attitude Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor even during busy or challenging situations.

This combination of qualifications ensures the receptionist can effectively manage the front desk operations while contributing positively to the gyms environment and client experience
