This is a paraprofessional position performing varied office support and field duties related to the administration of programming and events.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs routine clerical duties including typing filing and answering the telephone.
Interviews and/or counsels Park visitors vendors and tenants.
Answers public inquiries about programs and events. Receives and records complaints and documents that corrective action is taken. Assists managers in responding to requests for services from the public and other agencies.
Assists the public with Park reservations/rentals as well as other facilities and programs.
Gathers verifies prepares and maintains detailed and specialized information for a variety of reports and records.
Assists with preparing marketing materials and presentations.
Assists in the evaluation of new and existing programming and activities based on current or future needs and trends and past failures and successes.
Assists in maintaining records and preparing necessary reports including financial reports that account for revenues and expenditures.
Assists coordination with outside groups and businesses in Park activities designed to benefit the City.
Assists special program personnel in various activities.
Performs essential functions to ensure maximum quality guest experience.
Attends work on a continuous and regular basis.
NONESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Transcribes correspondences and reports.
Files correspondences and records.
Distributes office mail.
Processes purchase requests check requests and purchase orders.
Maintains Park calendar of appointments meetings maintenance inspections events programs etc.
Assists in updating Park policy and procedure manuals when necessary.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Below are the required education experience knowledge skills and abilities to perform the essential functions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and four 4 years of administrative support and guest service experience in a hospitality park or other outdoor venue preferred.
Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in park management park administration hospitality management business administration environmental studies or related field may substitute for two years of administrative support and guest service experience.
CERTIFICATIONS OR LICENSES
Licenses
Valid driver license required upon appointment. Valid Florida Driver License required within 30 days of appointment and at all time while employed in this classification.
Certifications
American Red Cross certification (or equivalent) in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and First Aid is required upon hire.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
General knowledge of overall Park objectives.
Thorough knowledge of office management practices and procedures business English commercial arithmetic spelling and legal terminology.
Thorough knowledge of operations functions and scope of authority of City departments and offices.
Some knowledge of local and state agency regulatory compliances for a brownfield site.
Strong interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to interact collaboratively and productively and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds including elected and appointed government officials Charter Officers City employees representatives of other agencies and the general public.
Knowledge of computers and relevant software. (In the Department of Parks Recreation and Cultural Affairs working knowledge of ActiveNet or other relevant online reservation system is essential.
Ability to plan schedule and coordinate work to meet specified deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to work effectively with vendors tenants coworkers and the general public this includes homeless those violating Park rules etc.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully an individual must possess certain physical abilities and be able to withstand work related environmental conditions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to sit for prolonged periods of time.
Work requires the physical strength and agility sufficient to safely perform all essential functions including the ability to walk lift reach stoop pull grasp balance climb kneel stand and crouch.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
May be required to attend meetings and/or work outside regular business hours including evenings weekends and holidays.
