MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

No withholds will be allowed for this examination. Required experience must be fully met by the last day of filing and clearly indicated on the application.

LICENSE
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out jobrelated essential functions.

PHYSICAL CLASS
Physical Class II Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10 pound limit and some bending stooping or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT INFORMATION

*To qualify underOPTION Iapplicants must have County status in this classification as evidenced by holding or having held such payroll title. NO OUTOFCLASS EXPERIENCE WILL BE ACCEPTED.

**To qualify underOPTION IIapplicants must have experience in preparing and processing various legal documents forms and correspondence requiring knowledge of legal terminology and must have been gained while working in a private law firm or corporate law office.

Typing Rate: 40 net words per minute.

OUR ASSESSMENT PROCESS
Once we have determined that you meet the requirements we will evaluate your fitness for this opportunity using these assessments:

This exam will consist of a multiple choice and/or simulation test weighted at100 assessing Customer Focus Learning Potential Responsibility and General Problem Solving Skills.

Applicants must meet the Minimum Requirements and achieve a passing score of 70 or higher on the examination in order to be placed on the eligible register.

THE MULTIPLECHOICE TEST IS NOT REVIEWABLE BY CANDIDATES PER CIVIL SERVICE RULE 7.19.

TYPEWRITING SKILL

A qualifying typing performance test of 40 net words per minute will be administered to candidates who successfully pass the multiple choice and/or simulation assessmentsof this examination AND who have not held a typing position in the service of the County of Los Angeles. Candidates will be allowedONLY ONE 1opportunity to pass the typing performance test within 12 months from the date of their multiple choice and/or simulation assessments.

The following candidates areNOTrequired to take the County typing performance test:
  • Candidates who in the service of the County of Los Angeles currently hold or have held a typing position that meets the minimum typing skill requirement of the subject examination.
  • Candidates who have taken and passed a Los Angeles County typing performance test administered by a County Department that meets the minimum typing skill requirement of the subject examination. Passing scores on record with the Department of Human Resources will be transferred automatically. Applicants who have met the typing requirement in another Los Angeles County department mustattach a copy of their typing certificate to their application at the time of filing or within seven 7 calendar days from the application submission to Only certificates issued by a Los Angeles County Department or the Department of Human Resources will be accepted.

We do not accept passwordprotected documents. Ensure documents are unlocked before attaching to your application or sending to the exam analyst.

Multiple Choice and/or Simulation Assessmentscores cannot be given over the phone.

WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT
You will move through the Assessment Process and if you pass we will place your results on a register. The register of everyone who passed is valid for six 6 months.

TRANSFERS OF TEST COMPONENTS

  • This examination contains test components that may be used in the future for new examinations and your test responses may be transferred.
