The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is looking for an Aerodynamics Engineer to support BDS Phantom Works projects in Berkeley MO. The position encompasses a wide range of leadership and responsibilities including aerodynamic design aeroperformance analysis aerodynamic database development wind tunnel testing and flight testing.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced and Senior Level Aerodynamics Engineer.
Position Responsibilities:
Aeroperformance analysis of tactical aircraft configurations
Wind tunnel test planning data analysis and posttest documentation
Aerodynamic database development from wind tunnel CFD and flight test data
Aerodynamic database integration into 6 degrees of freedom 6DOF) simulation tools
Flight test planning and data analysis
Uncertainty Quantification (UQ) and analysis of aerodynamic data from wind tunnel flight test CFD and empirical analysis codes
Integration of analysis codes and models within a Digital Engineering architecture
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Travel may be required up to 10 of the time; Domestically depending on business needs.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science
(Level 3 5 years of work related engineering experience with a Bachelors or 3 years of work related engineering experience with a Masters or work related engineering experience with a PhD
(Level 4 9 years of work related engineering experience with a Bachelors or 7 years of work related engineering experience with a Masters or 4 years of work related engineering experience with a PhD
3 years of experience in Aerodynamics and/or AeroPerformance
Understanding of what aerodynamic propulsion or other factors impact vehicle performance and how they can be used to optimize performance
Understanding of how the vehicle size is driven by performance and requirements
Experience conducting wind tunnel testing
Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.
