The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42/Hr. CAD $55.91/Hr.

Summary

Were currently hiring for our GI Endoscopy unitbring your expertise and passion to this specialized area!

As a Staff Nurse youll be at the forefront of patient care working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients/residents receive comprehensive support. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assess patients physical social spiritual and psychological needs.
  • Develop implement and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Incorporate teaching into care plans to educate patients and families.
  • Make referrals to resources as needed.
  • Support fellow healthcare professionals.
  • Operate within the framework of Providence Health Cares mission vision and values.

What You Bring

Education:

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives and currently practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Advanced preparation in GI Endoscopy that includes completion of recognized postbasic education in gastroenterology/GI endoscopy nursing and a certificate of completion from the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) in gastroenterology or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Preference given to those with recent related GI endoscopy experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to complete initial and ongoing client assessments (clinical and diagnostic reasoning) and provide nursing care through appropriate/ prescribed technical therapeutic and safety type interventions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures appropriate for the area of service.
  • Ability to manages time and resources implement activities to promote cooperation among relevant others and collaborate across disciplines and related activities.
  • Ability to apply decisionmaking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work.
  • Ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problemsolve effectively.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Ability to provide clinical direction.
  • Ability to teach and identify patient learning needs.
  • Ability to lead patient/family group sessions.
  • Ability to transmit information intended to instruct clients and others about topics essential to health care and wellbeing.
  • Ability to use information prior learning and basic principles and procedures to support decisions and actions with relevant researchbased evidence.
  • Ability to role model conflict resolution strategies.
  • Ability to collaborate with and promote staff morale cooperation assertiveness and risktaking creative planning for change and innovations implementation of health authority policies or other protocols and ongoing professional development of self.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.

Your Day to Day:

  • Gather and analyze patient information (charts observations interviews) to develop implement and revise individualized evidencebased care plans with patients and families

  • Provide handson nursing interventions (including crisis and lifethreatening care) delegate tasks to support staff and guide the multidisciplinary team in delivering safe effective treatments

  • Track patient progress evaluate outcomes against goals adjust care plans as needed and communicate changes or concerns promptly to the team and family

  • Identify and meet learning needs of patients families and staff through oneonone and group teaching; mentor new nurses and students and model bestpractice guidelines

  • Maintain accurate timely documentation in line with professional standards and PHC policies; ensure critical updates are shared with patients families and colleagues

  • Coordinate discharge plans by connecting patients and families with community resources followup services and support agencies

  • Help develop and evaluate policies participate in research and qualityimprovement activities uphold infectioncontrol and safety procedures and advocate for patient dignity respect and autonomy
