Details:
Position summary:
Prepares and sets up the CNC Mills within the department for the fabrication of a variety of hardware used in the aircraft industry.
- Sets up and operates 3 4 and 5 axis CNC Mills to produce quality parts within the standards on the route sheet.
- Uses rotary table index head and various tooling used in CNC Mill Operations.
- Holds close tolerances with the standards of each operation outlined on the route sheet.
- Inspects dimensions and surface finish of products.
- Inspects own work using measuring instruments prior to obtaining first article inspection.
- Performs first articles.
- Performs daily PM (check fluid levels lubricating levels) as assigned.
- Provides technical support to personnel in lower classifications.
- Advises supervisor of better and more economical ways of completing operations on Material Removal Rate (depth of cut feeds and speeds) and tooling/process improvements.
**MUST HAVE OWN TOOLS**

Essential skills and experience:
- Must be familiar with machining fundamentals tool wear and tool usage.
- Thorough understanding of CNC Mill operations for use with ferrous bar and extrusion in various alloys.
- Understands 34 controls and must be able to learn a new control without formal training.
- Intermediate knowledge in the use of calipers micrometers sine bar indicators (height gauge) or any measuring instrument required to check parts correctly.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions as well as interpret blueprints sketches and engineering data to plan and layout complete sequence of operations according to the route sheets provided.
- Must be able to problem solve perform firsttime setup with minimal assistance run multiple machines at the same time read CNC programs and debbur parts
- 35 years experience in set up and operation of CNC Mills.
- Certified Operator or ability to receive Certified Operator status upon filling position.
Must have U.S. Person Status such as US Citizenship or Permanent/Temporary Resident
(Work Permit Not Accepted due to FAA Regulations as we work on Government Parts)
$28$30 per hour DOE
2nd Shift 3PM Start Time OT)
