As a US FOODS Dispatcher you will be responsible for coordinating driver activities to resolve service issues. The main objective is to verify that the customers needs are met in a prompt and professional manner.
Schedule:
Monday Friday Start Time: 5:00 PM
Great Dispatchers are crucial to the US FOODS team and one of the key members of our organization. Our Dispatchers strive for integrity and reliability while building trusting relationships with team members.
In the case of a vehicle accident or driver injury the dispatcher must notify the manager/supervisor in charge and the safety specialist ASAP
Coordinate driver activities to minimize hours of service violations
Verify that drivers are using Omnitracs properly
Assign backhauls as needed in the most efficient manner possible
Coordinate trailer and tractor assignments
Communicate to the sales force and operations management if there are any concerns regarding service issues due to late dispatch breakdown or other service failures
Reassign routes as needed
Visually inspect each drivers appearance for proper uniform and PPE
Coordinate shuttle assignments to minimize downtime and overtime
Complete Attendance Reports
Distribute intercompany mail to sales force
Perform other duties as assigned by management
High School Diploma or GED required
Must have working knowledge of DOT regulations and drivers logs
Must be organized and detailed with legible handwriting
Must be able to multitask
Minimum of 2 years transportation experience

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education specific skills function geographic location and other factors as applicable by law.
The expected base rate for this role is between $16 and $25 per hour.
As applicable this role will also receive:
Overtime compensation
Shift differential
Retention bonus (if applicable)
