The Sheriffs Information Management Services (SIMS) Supervisor directs and supervises the areas responsible for the release eligibility of inmates interpretation of court documents scheduling of court appearances and acceptance of bond payments fines and bond surrenders. This position ensures the effective and efficient operation of the SIMS division and continuity between shifts. The SIMS Supervisor must exercise considerable care and sound judgment in the daily operations in accordance with state law court decision or order and/or Office Policy.

Position Qualifications

Education
- High school diploma or GED.
Experience
- Five 5 years of experience which includes two 2 years of general clerical or administrative experience and three 3 years of legal court correctional or justice system experience
OR
Combined education and experience qualifications
- Other combinations of postsecondary education and experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a yearforyear basis.
Other requirements
- Must possess a valid Arizona drivers license or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire.
- Training that may be provided onthejob: FEMA NIMS IS100 and 700; Safety; Payroll; PREA.
- Prior to hiring the Sheriffs Office requires that all candidates pass a background review.

Essential Job Tasks
(This is not an allinclusive list of all job duties that may be required; employees will be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
Operations
- Ensures the smooth daytoday operation of each shift and personnel; develops and mentors the staff including Specialist lLead and Trainer positions.
- Oversees employee scheduling training and performance management including discipline.
- Manages and monitors the release of inmates to ensure they are lawfully released in a timely manner; interprets judicial orders impacting the release of detainees.
- Establishes procedures to obtain and maintain judicial records.
- Performs needs assessments analyzes the effectiveness of service delivery and develops strategies to improve results.
- Coordinates with other law enforcement agencies to resolve problems.
- Manages and oversees the Workbox Unit in the absence of the assigned supervisor.
- Assists with the duties of all SIMS staff during periods of high volume.
- Prepares reports administrative inquiries memos and other correspondence.
Administrative
- Prepares Employee Performance Appraisals (EPA) authors monthly Supervisor Notes and maintains employee division files.

- Attends required meetings and as assigned by manager or commander.
- Maintains compliance with applicable legal/court rules of procedure in procedure manuals and other resources.
- Oversees employee training and development and ensures continuity between shifts by establishing goals strategies and priorities.
- Assists the management team and command with establishing and reviewing policies and procedures; recommends improvements and procedural changes.
- Recommends updates to the Operations Manual including updates for each assignment post.
- Participates in the interviewing and selection process for hires and promotions.
General
- Maintains presence at work site to perform tasks as scheduled and/or assigned by the supervisor.
- Interprets policy and recommends changes to procedures as needed.
- Acts as liaison for the Sheriffs Office departments and other agencies that interact with SIMS.
- Fulfills requests from the Legal Section for preservation of evidence or production of records.
- Responds to customer comments and complaints via written correspondence.
- Attends required meetings and as assigned by the manager or commander.
- Reviews reports administrative inquiries memos and other correspondence prepared by assigned staff.
- Prepares and requests for approval of purchase orders monitor supplies and services budget.
- Recommends new programs to enhance the Jail Management System (SHIELD).
- Maintains a balanced distribution of staff across the Division to maximize service delivery.
- Acts on behalf of SIMS managers during periods of absence.
