ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Medical Director will be responsible for leading select US Medical Affairs projects in support of above brand oncology priorities. S/he will also be responsible for the development and of short and longterm US medical strategy supporting Pfizer oncology engagement with national and regional oncology organizations through partnerships and alliances advancing the equitable care of patients with cancer. In addition S/he will be responsible for medical support and optimization of external facing oncology points of engagement. A significant portion of time will be externallyfacing. S/he will work closely with crossfunctional partners and stakeholders ensuring that the US Medical Affairs plan is aligned with Pfizer oncology goals.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead medical strategies to optimize prioritized initiatives in collaboration with internal partners and stakeholders including:
Patient Advocacy above brand/pan tumor
GMG Quality Improvement and equity initiatives
Policy Initiatives
Pfizer Oncology Reputation
Strategy Development
Materials Development and Review:
Ensure consistency accuracy and quality for materials related to external above brand Pfizer oncology initiatives.
Provide medical leadership for concept development in collaboration with stakeholders & partnership with legal regulatory to ensure compliant accurate and highquality content.
Customer Insight Planning:
Provide leadership for the development and implementation of customer insight planning (including Advisory Boards) to gather expert guidance to advise medical planning above brand.
Customer Facing Partnerships:
Partner with expert thought leaders and societies to support Pfizer Oncology goals through collaborations and partnerships.
Provide primary medical leadership & support for medical congresses planning in partnership with stakeholders and project leads.
QUALIFICATIONS
MustHave:
Applicant must have a masters degree with at least 10 years of experience; OR a PhD with 7 years of experience; OR MD/DVM with 5 yearsof experience.
Experience leading quality improvement strategy and engagement across external stakeholders.
Diverse leadership experiences representing organizational interests with external stakeholders including professional societies advocacy organizations regulatory policy scientific and lay audiences.
Experienced in the delivery of oncology care within the US Healthcare System.
Demonstrated ability to influence without authority.
Executive presence and communications skills required to convey complex scientific information to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to translate insights into actions.
Understanding of the drug development process.
Independent and strategic leadership history with creativity and effectiveness in proactively identifying and addressing challenges.
Wellorganized with the ability to be flexible prioritize multiple demands.
Knowledge of health care economics and its impact on medical decision making desired.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Long periods working at a computer
Capable of comprehending and communicating in a clear concise manner a large amount of scientific information.
NONSTANDARD WORK SCHEDULE TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work flexible hours and domestic and international traveling.
Up to 30 travel
