The City of Topeka is seeking a dedicated social services professional to oversee the Shelter Plus Care Program. This is a HUD program that provides individuals with a disability a housing subsidy and assistance. The Program Coordinator will work closely with referring partner agencies landlords and clients and assist clients through the process of receiving a Shelter Plus Care voucher finding housing and maintaining their housing.
What youll do:
- Provide fullcycle case management services to Shelter Plus Care clients.
- Work closely with referring partner agencies landlords and clients to secure and maintain housing.
- Complete data entry into online systems and submit required reports to maintain compliance with the Shelter Plus Care grant.
The ideal candidate has:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm in highstress situations
- The ability to work comfortably in a fastpaced team environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- An aptitude for technology and the ability to utilize data effectively
- A passion for community engagement
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in social work human services or related field is preferred.
- Must have a minimum of one year of related experience in program administration.
- Must be insurable within the standards set by the City of Topeka insurance carrier and must possess and maintain a valid Kansas drivers license.
Minimum entry rate of pay: $23.07 per hour
