The department specializes in all areas of orthopaedics including joint reconstruction sports medicine cartilage restoration pediatric orthopaedics spinal disorders hand foot and ankle trauma musculoskeletal oncology shoulder and elbow microvascular repair and major limb reconstruction. We have clinics in Salt Lake Lehi Layton and Provo you may be asked to travel. Job Description: This is a PRN position in our busy Pediatric Orthopedic clinic. This position does not require you to be in the operating room or perform most fluoroscopic exams. This position is performing mostly static diagnostic xrays. Location: This position will may require travel to all current and future clinics currently located in Salt Lake and Riverton.
Responsibilities
XRay Tech Limited License Essential Functions: Performing xrays in a timely manner with minimal exposure. Will need to assist with positioning and transferring of patients. Inputting orders as well as checking in and out patients in iCentra and EPIC . Use of the EOS machine as well as a mini C arm within the the clinic. Order supplies and maintain inventory counts Performs radiographic procedures critiques radiographs and images to maintain quality control program. XRay Tech Limited License Knowledge / Skills and Abilities: Knowledgeable and practice radiation safety basic patient care QA/QC of images and use of xray equipment. Be able to work under the supervision of a radiologist or radiology practitioner. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are also required. Ability to report equipment failure to appropriate department personnel for immediate attention or serviced by an equipment technician. Demonstrated authority to utilize their own discretion in selecting proper cassette size exposure factors and the ability to correct exposure problems. Ability to balance and prioritize the work load requirements of the day while maintaining the needs of the department and providing flexibility to assist physicians in completing examinations.
Minimum Qualifications
XRay Tech Limited License Limited Qualifications: Required: Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system or a commitment to obtain it within 30 days of hire. Current license to practice as a Radiologic Practical Technologist in the State of Utah. This position is patientsensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
