The scope of our work is within the four walls of the manufacturing cell from the time we get a manufacturing request till the book is manufactured.

You will have the opportunity to leverage your technical skills in areas such as Internet of Things (IoT) computer vision sensor/camera networks lowlatency/high availability distributed systems cloud computing device integration data processing workload scheduling workflow optimization and much more. You will be responsible for contributing to the teams roadmaps mentoring engineers and collaborating with a diverse group of business and technical partners to shape the future of our technology.
To succeed in this role you will focus on:
Design implement test deploy and maintain innovative distributed software solutions to expand our manufacturing throughput device integration sensor networks and workflow optimizations
Analyze optimize and refactor applications and services such as machine automation computer vision and controls engineering
Write clean maintainable code and perform peer codereviews
Work with other team members to investigate design approaches prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility
Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all team deliverables
Work in an agile startuplike development environment where you are always working on the most important stuff
This role will sit in our new headquarters in Arlington Virginia where Amazon has invest $2.5 billion dollars occupy 4 million square feet of energy efficient office space and create at least 25000 new fulltime jobs. 3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
