C17 Mechanic Fuel SystemsMods 4699 (SAT)

Company:

Boeing Aerospace Operations

The Boeing Company is seeking a C17 MechanicFuel Systems MOD to support our business in San Antonio TX.

The C17 Mechanic Fuel Systems MOD job duties include:

  • Removal and reinstallation of structural brackets supports vents tubes and component assemblies in aircraft fuel tanks.
  • Performs dry capacity checks FOD free inspections prior to tank closure fuel tank leak repairs/leaks checks and drain/air purge fuel tanks.
  • Required to perform fuel system maintenance & pressurization checks as required.
  • Performs fuel tank maintenance safety tasks including clearing the aircraft when applying electrical power using grounding safety devices performing lockout/tagout and performing Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) tests. Defuels and refuels aircraft as required.
  • Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as; blueprints or manufactures manuals.
  • Read and follow the Boeing and US Air Force provided technical data blueprints engineering drawings standard operating procedures and manufacturing specifications in the maintenance processes.
  • Provides troubleshooting knowledge inspection repair modification replacement of aircraft fuel components and systems and followon operational checks.
  • Required to access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy requests.
  • This position will require working in confined spaces of the wing fuel cells for extended periods.

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 2 years of experience working as a fuel tank aircraft mechanic
  • 2 years experience reading schematics technical data and work instructions
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
  • Ability to work in an 17.75 X 10.00 opening of the wing fuel cells for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with commercial and military aircraft
