Job Description

Position Title: Data Collection Aide
Location:
Pierre
Agency: Department of Transportation
Minimum Salary: $17.70 per hour
Closing Date: May 13 2025
Hiring Manager: Derek Ferwerda

The normal summer season is approximately May through September. Opportunities may exist to begin earlier and work later. Most positions involve outdoor work and strenuous physical labor. Seasonal employees are paid only for hours worked.

Duties:
Drive a specialized testing vehicle and assist in the collection of pavement condition data. Drive shadow vehicle and flag traffic in testing or survey zone on highway. This position involves driving through the State and regular overnight stays. Work week is Monday through Thursday.

Requirements:
Must be age 18 by the date of hire. Must have a valid drivers license. Ability to work outside and perform limited physical labor. Considerable overnight travel required.

Please note this is a temporary or seasonal nonbenefited position exempt from civil service.
