In this position...

This position supports achievement of Material Cost objectives over the lifecycle of the vehicle line. Working together with the Vehicle Program Director Chief Program Engineers Engineering and Supply Chain achieve and maintain world class material cost across multiple model years. Applicants must be experienced in automotive product development working in teams and comfort with large sets of data. Applicants should have a foundation an understanding of Fords Global Product Development System (GPDS) Program Timing Deliverables and to be a vocal advocate for cost efficiency opportunities.

What youll do...

  • Advocate Cost Culture within the company with emphasis on the three rules of efficient costs: Dont Over Content (the vehicle) Dont Over Design (the content) and Dont Overpay (for the design)
  • Leverage multiple sources of data to generate or investigate Dont Over Design Dont Over Content or Dont Overpay opportunities
  • Prepare for and support Cost Loop workshops to develop a bottomup cost status by commodity for each control model
  • Disposition material cost opportunities coming from Cost Loop workshops with the Teams of Four (To4
  • Create adhoc WhatIf Cost Studies to support strategic and tactical decisionmaking
  • Attend and support Program forums such as the Program Steering Team (PST) Chief Program Engineering Decision Forum (CPE DF) and Finance PAT to represent the Material Cost Attribute
  • Leverage Global Total Costs skill team departments: Benchmarking & Cost Attack Global Vendor Tooling Global Cost Estimating Material Cost Data Architecture (Team Vector) Indirect Engineering and Warranty Analytics

Youll have...

  • Bachelors degree in Science Systems Engineering or related field
  • 5 years experience in Automotive Product Development (OEM Tier 1 Supplier etc.
  • Experience in analyzing Competitive Automotive Designs

Even better you may have...

  • Systems Engineering certification Master of Science (MS) or Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Experience or certification in Systems Engineering
  • Experience with Automotive financial income statements

This position is a range of salary grades SG6SG8 .
