Join us in our second year of the Sustainability Internship Programme.
Convatec is seeking a waste management intern to join our environment health and safety (EHS) team based at our manufacturing site in Deeside UK to support us on our journey to embed sustainability practices across the company. The project will involve a study into existing waste management processes on site analysing the current waste streams and data produced on site reporting on ways to reduce reuse or prevent the waste being generated.
This internship offers the successful candidate the opportunity to play a central part in delivering the sites sustainability goals focused on the reduction of waste generated on site raising waste streams up the waste hierarchy and developing broad experience as a member of a highperforming team.
100 paid internship 1891.66 GBP monthly gross.
3 to 6 months internship.
Hours per week 20h/week up to 40h/week.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
Working with your coordinator to understand current waste practices and waste streams produced
Understanding the cost impact of the waste generated and calculating the savings associated with those proposed recommendations.
Carry out desktop research to analyse the impact of certain projects to reduce reuse or prevent waste and whether other options exist to achieve the site sustainability objectives.
Work closely with suppliers to gather the relevant information related to a projects cost to implement savings and associated waste and carbon reduction.
Present findings to Site / EHS Leadership Team
