Job Description & Responsibilities
As a Senior Embedded Firmware Design Engineer you will engage with an experienced crossdisciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative video collaboration products. You must be responsible flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You will work closely with an internal interdisciplinary team and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition and test.
The Senior Embedded Firmware Design Engineer is the lead engineer on a project team. You will be responsible for the architecture design and implementation of the embedded s/w for camera products.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Senior Embedded Firmware Design Engineer is the lead engineer on a project team.
- You will be responsible for the architecture design development and implementation of the camera software
- You would be responsible for bringup testing production releases bist implementations and support for mass production
- Tools/applications running on win/mac/linux for development and debug applications for field upgrades as well as tools for manufacturing and production
- Support diagnostics and device operations.
- Interface with various hardware and software vendors on complex system integration tasks to achieve efficient costeffective and delightful product solutions.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A Masters degree with 48 years career experience in computer science or computer engineering.
- Must have experience with Embedded Linux/Android and RTOS on ARM processors
- Must have experience with USB (hotplug drivers)
- Experience with Video devices Image sensors and image processors is a must
- Experience with uboot CFE ramFS
- Experience with I2C SPI I2S UART Flash RAMs LCD SD cards
- Experience with BOTH C and C programming in 8 16 and 32bit embedded environments and knowledge of assembly
- Experience with Audio and Video codecs is a plus
- Experience with UVC and UAC protocols is a plus
- Extensive experience with software engineering processes and tools
- Experience and comfort with lab tools such as debuggers logic analyzers and oscilloscopes
- Strong written and verbal communication and project management skills
- Thinks outside the box when developing solution
- A passion for creating and building things
Pay Transparency Notice:
- Depending upon experience and location the target annual base salary for this position can range from $100000.00 to $200000.00
- In addition you may be eligible for a 1015%discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal yearend
- Compensation for roles at GN depend on a wide array of factors including but not limited to location role skill set and level of experience
