Lighthouse Lab Services is currently seeking a Confirmations Supervisor in the Indianapolis IN area. The role of Confirmations Supervisor involves the management of the confirmations department focusing on the preparation and confirmatory analysis of urine and oral fluid specimens for of abuse in a forensic laboratory environment. Key responsibilities include overseeing people processes inventory and machines to ensure compliance with policies and procedures as well as continuous process improvement and optimization.
This position will report directly to the Laboratory Manager.
Responsibilities
- Sample Handling & Analysis: Supervise the preparation and LCMS/MS analysis of samples in accordance with lab standard practices.
- Result Certification Oversight: Ensure accurate certification of confirmation results.
- Quality & TAT Goals: Apply expertise to produce highquality work and meet turnaround time (TAT) goals.
- Compliance & Validation: Ensure all methods and validations meet certification and compliance requirements under the leadership of lab director and management.
- Problem Solving & Collaboration: Collaborate with leadership to resolve workrelated problems within or between departments and sites.
- Work Allocation: Schedule work assign tasks and manage analytical resources to meet production goals and improve lab operations.
- SOP Maintenance: Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) in accordance with lab guidelines and best practices.
- Policy Enforcement: Ensure compliance with policies procedures standards and guidelines including CLIA safety and environmental regulations.
- Staff Accountability: Maintain accountability for attendance productivity training and incidents and conduct employee appraisals.
- Inventory Management: Determine and maintain proper levels of materials to meet anticipated work volumes.
- IT Liaison: Serve as point of contact for IT department for troubleshooting and new product/process development.
- Inspection Participation: Participate in internal inspections and serve as a technical resource for external audits and inspections.
- Staff Scheduling: Schedule staff to ensure optimal production and coverage.
Qualification Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelors Degree in a hard science field (e.g. Chemistry Biology) and 5 years of laboratory experience.
- Masters Degree in a hard science field and 3 years of laboratory experience.
- Doctoral Degree in a hard science field and 2 years of laboratory experience.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or training experience.
Desired Skills
- Experience with sample preparation techniques and LCMS/MS platforms.
- Familiarity with CLIA and CAP accreditation requirements.
- Proficiency in Excel Word Power BI and LIMS software.
