Our Signals and Communications office part of the Asset Management & Maintenance division is looking for a Senior Engineering Lead Signals & Communications to provide comprehensive engineering services associated with the delivery of the Signals & Communications program.

As a Senior Signalling Engineer specializing in Signalling ComputerBased Interlocking and Train Control System; you will play a pivotal role in the design installation testing commissioning maintenance and asset management of a wide array of Signalling assets.

What will I be doing
  • Serving as a subject matter expert providing guidance and expertise in the design installation testing commissioning maintenance and asset management of CBI and CBTC systems for LRT and Subway projects.
  • Reviewing and overseeing the compliance of Signalling and Train Control capital project deliverables with industry standards as well as applicable municipal provincial and federal codes and standards. This includes reviewing preliminary and detailed designs technical and operational requirements/specifications and ensuring proper document control construction testing commissioning maintenance and operations.
  • Supervising and monitoring contractors and consultants to ensure adherence to best industry practices safety standards reliability and quality of Signalling and Train Control Systems.
  • Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to facilitate smooth signals commissioning and transition infrastructure work ensuring all acceptance criteria are met and required documentation (e.g. blueprints drawings technical specifications) is delivered prior to final acceptance and handover.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
  • A university degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering from a recognized university or a related discipline or any combination of education training and experience deemed or eligible to be registered as a . (Professional Engineer) in the Province of Ontario is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design installation testing and commissioning maintenance and asset management of Signalling and Train Control System deployed in Metrolinx mainline/LRT/Subway infrastructure.
  • Indepth knowledge and understanding of Signalling and Communications standards such as AREMA CENELEC and IEEE.
  • A valid Ontario G Drivers License is required.
  • Extensive experience in providing technical advice relating to Signalling system contracts.
  • Must be decisive and can make sound decisions in the course of daily work.
  • Excellent analytical oral/written communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
